The weary voice of night
Within my tired skin
Hours, moments, now lopsided
Streetlights flicker, voices gliding
Hands and fingers held so tightly,
Bitter heartache, moaning lightly
Lost forsaken, ever lonely
Within the moments taken from me.
Street cars pass
Engines half drunk roaring
In my veins heaven peering
In my heart sorrow shearing.
Another moment, or dying hour
Thoughts are raised to burning tower
High, so high, almost away
In this night I stray.
