SUNSET AT NOON

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

Notice of absence from Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke
I will surely get back to you when I come online.

Painful exit,
A son's death deliberated
on a dining table,
By frenemies of his household.

Jealous fuels their plans,
A young promising Kenneth,
With plans to wed by December
with his twin-brother.

Today,
There he lays
like a log of wood,
His twin fainted
a million times.

Enemies are within
your roofs,
Witchcraft their only mirror,
Devil lives in skirts and trousers.

"If I die, bury me,
take me not to the mortuary"
These were his last words,
Reincarnation, he vows,
Vengeance an inevitable mission.
