AFRICA

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

Notice of absence from Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke
I will surely get back to you when I come online.

How did we get here?
Who brain drained you?
When you ignore the Holy Book,
You pay for your ignorance.

Candles mock at your woes,
Redemption lies on the Cross,
Religion is a lucrative business,
Fake powers everywhere!

They hide their sources of powers,
Some bury theirs in foundation,
Some in mantles,
Fake prophecies echo in their walls.

How long will you be deceived?
You perish for lack of knowledge;
knowledge of the truth,
Religion has caged us for decades.

Africa!
Your nzuzu has no cure,
Drop the filty garments of religiosity,
And come to the truth,
Or be consume in bloodshed.

  • Comment from author about the poem: The poem reflects on religion. Religious canopies are sited everywhere in Africa. Fake prophets and prophetesses walk the streets seeking for their preys to milk dry. Many false prophets use the Holy Book to deceive fellowers and make money out of their ignorance. Knowing God for ourselves through studying the Word of God will help believers to build their faith in God. May God help us in Africa. Amen.
