Superpower

yellowisacolor

Thank you.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for your concern,
But I'm okay.-
I'm more than okay.

You see, I have this superpower.
I take a sip, and my anxiety fades.
I take a sip, and my mind becomes clear.
I take a sip, and I can be around people.
I take a sip, and I'm invincible.

You say I need to stop,
But have you thought about what happens after?

If I do as I am told,
Do you realize the consequences?
If I do as I am told,
What will I be?
If I do as I am told,
I will be nobody.
I won't have anything.
If I do as I am told,
My superpower vanishes,
Along with all that I've ever been.
If I do as I am told,
Who will I be?
How will I function?

If I lose my superpower,
I won't be me.
If I lose my superpower,
I won't have anything.

Do I listen,
Or do I keep my power?
Do I listen,
Or do I vanish?
Do I listen,
Or do I flourish?

My superpower is who I am.
Do you not want me anymore?
What's wrong with me?

Am I not enough?
I think I'm fine.
Am I a burden?
Maybe.

You say I have a problem,
But I know it makes me stronger.

Do I listen,
Or do I stay?
