Perpetual errors stimulate my mind
I scrape the dirt off my feet, for I feel guilty
This wicked love story has no end
Embrace the borders of my mind
For I feel your fingertips all over me,
For we are the living dead of the century
So powerful is our passion
For each other,
Because our love is edgewise
Like around the bend
And there's no other love
Greater than this...
Why do the cosmic stars align with our Jesus?
For Jesus is black and mild, behold the Cinergy
For you rub me with your oil
And I bend
Fluorescent colors spike the rum like magic
No other love is spiritual like this
I beg for the walls to fall;
And you are the husband I never had
You are a rose in Brooklyn
You are the sun in Harlem
I never knew a love could feel this strong
For my inner truth is no longer bitter
I stand on my own two feet,
For love is rare like a precious diamond
Rattling the eyes of curiosity,
And tampering with the minds of the soul
Driven to fall again and again...
My passionate body recognizes yours
A poet recognizes a poet
And real recognizes truth,
Behold the sirens going off
Behold the fire's explosion,
I wonder where my true love lies
Between barren sheets I no longer recognize
For you are the husband I never had, truly
Behind the veil there is a sweet southern truth
And the deepness of your voice rattles me...
It rattles my brain
And it makes me go insane,
To whom do I honor in this hour
When the silver curtains hit the floor?
For I see that rose in Brooklyn
Lying peacefully at the door;
Let us dance under the moonlight
As your words are killing me softly
Between riddles and rhymes,
Oh who else has borrowed time?
Well at least I have a borrowed dime
The one you give me every time...
For love is a crisis
Buried in sin,
For we are silk sheets in the middle of summer
For you are my husband, and I am your wife
Pretending to be unhappy
Because that's what we are to each other
Two unhappy birds in the forest
For we are unable to fly.
