Markets of peace..

adnan it is

Someone once said, "Peace lies in the hills,"

In gardens of flowers, in colors that thrill

In streets alive with the city's sound

In the markets of bustling towns, it's found

I too got lost in those busy lanes

Fell in love with the city's vibrant chains

The scenery once filled my soul with delight

Built my world around smiles so bright

But now these streets echo no more

Peace has drifted far from those stores

Perhaps getting lost in the hills was right

For now, that peace has puffed from my sight

  • Comment from author about the poem: Peace!!! Is what we constantly search for in our life. One may find it in a goal, an event, a memory etcetera. I found it in a person (so bright) and those city lanes which followed her home. I long to get lost there forever...

So sad, so true. Peace has drifted for sure. Nice work.
