Even If We Can't

Ladywithaquill

I would dance even if you didn’t want to

But I’d rather dance with you.

I would dance with you even if we had two left feet,

During a rainstorm on an empty street.

I will sing along to every single song,

And I’d rather you hum along,

Even if our voices sound like the cawing of crows,

Let’s perform before the curtains close.

I will paint a pretty picture of you,

And I’ll be your muse too.

Even if it resembles the work of a three-year old,

Who was shivering from a cold.

Let’s sing and dance, and laugh and cry,

Even if we can’t, let’s just try.

Before we turn into the butt of a cigarette,

Burnt out and full of regret.
