If There is a God, Who Would He Vote For?

Accidental Poet

I have to wonder

If there is a God, is he seeing

All this political stuff

If it’s beyond his believing

Were he to vote in this election

He would vote for compassion

For all his children of love

That love is dispersed with equal ration

Does he not frown upon lying

That adultery is betraying a spouse’s trust

To see yourself as a Dictator

Is inflicting yourself on democracy akin to rust

To lead the people

You’re expected to uphold the truth

Lead by setting an example

Not the fantasies of your youth

You’re not to abuse the public

For your own gain

You’re not to cheat to win

A convict causing the pain

Whether there’s a God or not

There’s someone to answer to

Rest assured they see the guilty

They plan on having a few words with you
