A Lover's Withdrawal

mtrotter1

Beautiful are the dreams within

Where we can hold the desolate sky

I wonder as the blue frog croaks

Upon the sand,

So many things come into question

So many hearts unfold...

Where does the mystery begin?

And I have had my addictions

But love is the biggest one of them all

I cannot bear to have this heart broken again

Yet it stands the test of time

For a lover's withdrawal is love

And we are all cowards for it,

And no one sees this coming

The parting of the fleece!

For what warmth does one have for another

When rest is not enough?

I cannot feel this heart again

Unless I have that warmth...

And love is a desolate sky in all faults

I can only dream for more

The prettiest view is inept to be seen

Unless love bares its truth,

No more heavy breathing at the scene!

For my desolate sky has fallen

And the flame in the fire

Has lit its match

I want to be alive once more

Yet someday the blue frog will croak again.
