In those moments
When life is hard
The world is loud
I turn to you
I know you
You are steady
And quiet
So I turn to you
We are always
Alone together
But still
I reach for you
As I pull you close
You light up
I inhale you
Intoxicating
My brain floods
Endorphins
Dopamine
Your scent covers me
Nothing but our fire
Your warmth in my mouth
My exhalations over you
I needed this
When it is over
And you are spent
Nothing left to give
My senses return
I wash off your scent
Only memories remain
And your toxic, cloying love
I'll turn to you again
Because I know
Even though
This kills us both
I turn to you

I do understand. I've got 21 months clean and sober. Stay in the fight.
That's fantastic to hear, both the understanding and the clean streak! That is a goal post I hope to slap next year.
