A Little Girl

sunshine777

She was so sensitive

Completely misunderstood

Her brain was a little sponge

Soaking in all the poison

She was raised in

Feeling the pain

Not only for herself

For the kids she was being raised with

She was mad and heart broke

Before she learned happiness

Abandonment automatically puts up it's shield of isolation

Everyone knew her

No one knew her pain

To see others happy

She would easily sacrifice herself

To know she can stop someone from suffering

She could take the beating and cuffs

Still as strong as she is

Only a little girl

Even as an adult

Daily she needs to remind herself

She was only a kid

Forever entwined with her no matter what friend

A little girl

Finally has a soul she can trust

To help her heart mend

And we mourn the childhood we never had... Very beautiful, thank you.
