I.
A swan and bard, I love thee, Rose:
the one for whom I pen this song
that trills a note which sweetly flows.
A swan and bard, I love thee, Rose,
for whom my flower of love grows
when the sun's disc is high and strong.
A swan and bard, I love thee, Rose,
whom now the world forever knows!
II.
The love of Rose, though we're apart,
sings like a song which sweetly flows
from this poet's pen as rhythmic art.
The love of Rose, though we're apart,
binds us close like a single heart;
but God knows that the love of Rose
endows me with a fresh, new start:
with her love as the sublimest part!

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is my expression of love and appreciation for my best friend, Rose, whose friendship and love rescued me from a life of profound despair and loneliness. Naturally, she is my godsend for whom I am most grateful to the Lord. So, amen!
