CHILL

nephilim56

The Autumn chill
The falling rain
A broken heart
I try in vain.

To forget
That ghastly night
The darkened room
The flickering light.

The footsteps echo
On hospital ward
Lonely corridors
The ghosts who call.

My personal demons
Scream aloud
The past returns
The nightmares howl.

You bitter path
In essence lay
Overwhelm my night
Slay my day.

Haunted still
The moments freeze
The apparition
My thoughts to steal.

Velvet footfalls
Creaking door
Voices muffled
There must be more.
