You Never Cared

Jasmine Swift

I used to walk down the street with your hand in mine.

I didn't think this was possible after all of this time.

I gave you everything, but you never gave back.

I was only 16. You should've cut me some slack.

Why would you think of tearing us apart?

The truth I found out is I never had your heart.

You once cleared the smoke I breathed from the air.

The black death I've come to know if the fact you never cared.

I remember the days we thought we'd last.

It's hard to think that it's all in the past.

Why do you think that fooling me was okay?

You said you'd be there for me everyday.

What other things did you never mean?

Maybe it's possible you never loved me.

I'm left with the smoke you put back in the air.

This black death you caused is the way you never cared.
