Let me protect you

Maplespal

Let me protect you

I will protect you from your fear,

come to my eyes and into them peer.

Into each others, let us together stare,

let us see past our own reflections there,

past the pupils and into our thoughts,

ignoring all the imagined naughts.

Towards the fears we both hide so well,

to the libraries of all the stories we have to tell,

of troubles and threats we have as our fears,

of the rivers and lakes filled with our tears,

of the pain still lingering on our skin,

and the truths we keep hidden within.

Into my eyes please come sit and stare,

of each other lets us become fully aware.

For but a moment let them be intertwined,

let them sit together and become one mind,

let us be together mentally true,

from your fears let me protect you.
