A Poisonous Tree

People say the apple doesn't fall far, From the tree that birthed it, a hateful scar, A seed of malice, planted deep inside, Bearing fruit that's tainted, flawed, and divide. Your mother's words, a venomous stream, Poisoning the well, where love's sweet dream, Once flourished, now withers, dry and gray, A reflection of her heart, day by day. The tree of life, once green and strong, Now withers, corrupted, where love did belong, Its roots infected, its limbs decayed, Bearing fruit that's rotten, flawed, and frayed. You, the apple, once pure and bright, Now tainted by her hatred, lost in flight, She says I'm not enough, not her ideal, A harmful seed, planted, making you conceal. Your love for me, once true and real, Now dwindles, suffocated, unable to feel, The words she speaks, a poisonous rain, Nourishing doubt, and fueling pain. When did you realize, this wasn't about me? But about her, her fears, her insecurities? The seeds she sows, the words she says, Shape our fate, come what may. I search for answers, night and day, For a love that's lost, a heart gone astray, But find instead, a barren land, Where hate's the harvest, hand in hand. Your mother's tree, once full of life, Now stands as witness to her strife, Its branches broken, its leaves gone dry, A reflection of her heart, that's why. Oh, for a drop of pure, clean rain, To wash away the stains, the pain, To revive our love, to heal its roots, To bring us back, to love's sweet fruits. But still she speaks, in venomous tone, Planting seeds of doubt, and making them your own, And I wonder why, you can't see, The poison she spreads, is killing you and me. The words she says, they matter, you see, For they shape our world, and our destiny, So let us choose, to stand apart, From her hatred, and her poisonous heart. Yet still I dream, of a love anew, Where kindness shines, and hearts are true, Where trees bear fruit, that's pure and sweet, And love's the harvest, we reap and meet. But till that day, I'll wander, lost, Through this world's wilderness, forever crossed, Searching for answers, night and day, For a love that's lost, in a world gone gray. Farewell, my love, may you find your way, Free from her poison, to a brighter day, And know that I loved you, truly and deep, But her hatred, was a wound, we couldn't keep.
