Begging Man (Tomorrow It Could Be You)

TobaniNataiella

Tomorrow It Could Be You.

As I sit with my bowl huddled on the floor.

Watching endless people enter the supermarket door.

I'm cold and tired from another hungry night.

And to all these people I am an unwanted sight.

My worn-out clothes are smelly and full of holes.

My shoes let in the water right through my soles.

I just looked straight ahead hoping someone will stop.

And give me a couple of Bob, I'm not asking a lot.

Some do not even look they just pretend I am not here.

Others hesitate they might care but they just stare.

Maybe thinking I would blow any money on alcohol and drugs.

Instead of a nice hot drink and a bit of grub.

It's possible that some of them see themselves in me.

And it is frightening to realise what their life could be.

To all those who do just stare, remember yesterday i was you.

Tomorrow this could be you too.
