Office Work? (I'd Rather Burn)

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Planning to be small and eloquent,
Not large and tusk headed like an elephant.
Settled in at my Ibis hotel,
Mostly seemed to sleep well.
One night, had an unsettling dream,
I was doing admin tasks and back as a teen,
Manager hunched over with an unsettling gleam,
Looking at information on my computer screen.
Next day receive an email asking if I would return,
Really go back to office work? - I'd rather burn.

Ahh, outdoor work for you then?!

Ahh, outdoor work for you then?! Or at least not indoor work in an office.

Something different for sure, I'm volunteering right now.

These lines are nice and will resonate well with those like me who did 16 hours of grueling work during our primes.

        Horrible isn't it.

Sure it is. We just do not realize it at that moment.
