Flicker

Garth Rakumakoe

Like a lightning flash

it caught me blindsided

-

I never saw its attire

reaching for my hand

whatever it was

-

But when it was done

I sure did admire

the lessons I'd missed

through every tear and smile

rightly lost and falsely won

on the light strips

of a perpetual skid

whence we wined

tangoed the night, spun

veered off the bridge

flipped, and crashed
