What a fantastic feeling,
Your mum’s on her way.
Surrounded by love,
Less a stone’s throw away.
All three by the knee side,
Chatting six to the dozen,
Your heart lifts, my heart lifts,
An emotion unfrozen.
Bright eyed, somewhat teary,
You go through the motions,
To live, to survive in this chaos forgotten,
Now centred, now calm, removed the commotion.
I picture you thus,
With a tea in your chair,
‘La banane’ unconditional
And your glorious, red hair.
Enjoy every second, every moment and hour,
You deserve all the happiness as you rise to empower
Confrere, mate and other, both random and true.
We all believe in you, now it’s all up to you.
