LOOK UP TO THE CROSS ➕

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

Notice of absence from Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke
I will surely get back to you when I come online.

A call for one and all,
Only the chosen remains faithy,
Some men on cassocks and suits
tell beautiful lies, for self gains.

The religious canopies
inhabit motivational bandits
Whose silver tongues
milk many pockets dry.

They speak in grandiloquent words,
Performing arrange miracles,
Selling stickers, oil, water
and keys to unlock divine riches.

These men in suits and cassocks
Are givers, who take from the poor,
Asking skirts and trousers
to keep praying, when they are jobless.

"If you don't tithe, things will tight for you"
Their pulpit sermons,
While souls travel to hades,
Prosperity over Salvation.

Ignorance roams the streets,
Knowledge cries from books,
Many are paying for their ignorance;
Ignorance of not knowing God for themselves.

  • Comment from author about the poem: The poem reflects on the power of the Cross ➕. Christian must learn to put all their hope and faith on Jesus, He is the author an finisher of our faith. The Cross symbolizes the suffering and resurrection of Jesus. Christian faith is anchored on the Cross. And every Christian must carry his/her cross and follow Jesus. Many false Preachers/prophets are using religion to extort people. Some sell their religious items: oil, handkerchief, key, books and so on to make money.
