How I wish I could be...

Kaelyn Jade

I was lost,

All alone,

Broken inside and out,

But in the distance,

A glimmering light.

What could it mean,

What could it be,

What if it's something looking out for me.

The pain inside,

It just doesn't fade,

But as I run the farther I go,

The more I see that glimmering glow,

Something inside me is starting to grow.

The pain pushed at me is measured the same,

For nothing they do has even changed,

But the hurt no longer feels like pain,

They can no longer hold me with shame.

For I found a shield

That covers me like fire,

I reached a new light,

And little do they know..

Their comments no longer fall like hail on my head,

But instead I go outside,

With my umbrella held high,

To face the snow and rain outside.

So now I'm free,

As free as the wind,

I can fly around,

Free as can be,

Oh how I wish this could be me.
