Loss

Kerry

Shock, despair.

Blasted to smithereens.

Mind screaming anguish,

Body pains unlike another.

Do those comforting arms comfort

A burden as carry on

On this vastly diminished journey?

His daughter, her questioning mind

Abstract concepts radiating truth.

Nothingness leads a barbaric path forward.

Loss of anyone held dear is an obstacle that seems insurmountable whether spouse, child, parent, sibling or friend it shakes the foundation of one's world. So nicely written it carries this message to all of us who one day will feel the same.

Yes, very much so. I think I could have written a lot more on this subject but maybe broach it again after a bit of time. Thank you for your kind comment.

My guess is that no amount of words will make your friend feel better write now, .. it's too soon .. but an ear and availability would not go amiss .. an empathic post if ever there was .. funny how a poem can make one feel this way or that .. I find myself feeling sorry for your friends tragic loss .. Neville

Thank you, Neville. Yes, truly tragic.
