A reader sits at a set up stand
Card colours flaring to life.
Wanton in their disregard
Disruption in predictive strife.
Once, session at hand
Smoothing, caressing, imbuing,
No sense of how grand
A life changing reality unveiled.
Loved one’s betrayal
Child to come
Horrific pain in my future
Done to undone.
No, never a turn
Will I take to the cards
Reality, a slow steady burn
And ubiquitous marks.

We call that an Ouchie around these here parts .. I know a good hit man and should you need one, just holler 🐧👍
A very big Ouchie! I put my big girl pants on and womaned up though! Thank you for your offer, it was a while ago but the words have just come recently.
Painful and sad betrayal is a gut punch, a sucker punch that effects others as well. Sad to hear it and hope you work through it. The poem eases the reader into the meat of the issue. Nicely written
It really is! I believe the fact that I can talk or write about it now is a massive help! Thanks for your kind support Sorenbarrett.
