Without Pen and Paper

Job Welime

Without pen and paper, You’ve drawn my attention.
I swear, if beauty were a crime, You’d be serving a life sentence
No parole, no escape, Just locked up in the elegance of your own existence.

I’ve seen you in passing, Yet it feels like you’ve sketched your way into my mind,
With no brush, no ink just presence, You paint silence into something loud,
A masterpiece without the need for words.

It’s crazy, because we’ve never spoken,
But somehow, in the space between my glance and your smile,
There’s a story waiting to be told.
You move like art in motion, And I’m just a spectator,
Caught in the frame, Wishing I could step inside the picture and learn your name.

No pen, no paper, Yet you’ve written a question in my thoughts,
Who are you beyond the beauty that stops time?
Because I can’t help but wonder, If you’re this captivating in silence,
What could you be with conversation?

I’m not saying I know you, Not claiming I’ve cracked the code,
But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to try, To step past the surface,
To go beyond the scroll and the passing glance, And maybe just maybe discover,
The art you are, in all its depth.

No pen, no paper,But you’ve already left a mark.
