Abandoned

mtrotter1

Yesterday I saw a blue star far away!

For it was clumsy as sin was great

And the toddler screamed for Jesus,

For Jesus was in a well;

Blooming hearts dare to tell

The story of the wishing well

But lo and behold, the night's scares rush!

And far from the island

There lives a man and his dog

Wishing upon a star as always,

The land shall be free from the screams

Created by death and its shattered dreams

No wonder the deep star shines...

And deeper are the wells of ruin

The sweet veils of mercy have covered my soul

Where has my childhood began?

For the sweet veils of mercy cry

And all is forsaken

In the middle of the deep

And all is forgiven as well,

And the trees linger like fallen lights

Am I astonished by the presence you bring?

For Jesus is a dying road

Abandoned in the breeze.
