Insight into the night
I awoke before I arrived in this shell,
unreal I was surrounded by light.
Forward the direction I fell,
back into a closed eye night.
I died beside my love in bed,
frantically she brought me back.
Since that moment in my head,
the darkness’s existence I track.
Both the start and end are known,
in between I still breathe to live.
I open my mind to what its shown,
this knowledge to you I give.
When the darkness takes your death,
and you remember this insight,
let it capture your last breath,
just except your darkest night.
If you are of a certain kind,
you will again open new eyes.
To your past life deafened and blind,
while that forgotten life cries.
The darkness takes your soul,
unreal becomes your sight.
Memory the cost, the toll,
when you return from the night.

- Comment from author about the poem: I speak only of what I know, what I have experienced, and what we all head towards. Those of us that return to suppress another Human will always return from the night.
