In Dreams

Kevin Hulme

Why is it that you now turn away

With never a smile to shine its warm light unto me.

Have those full lips ever formed my name with kind intent ,

And  what hopeful loving gesture did this Heart ever see ?

So then ; I will cast you adrift from all thoughts ,

No more will I Sing Sonnets of Loves delight .

But - you are my Beatrice, My Laura , Erato’s Sweet Breath ,

And when dusk calls you will be In Dreams ,

That crazed Asylum of fever fuelled Night.
