WILDFLOWER

Qurrathul Ain

Notice of absence from Qurrathul Ain
I'm taking a break for a while, for no specific reason. Maybe because, I don't get as much inspirations as I used to.

I don't want to be a rose,

In someone's garden.

I want to be a wildflower,

In someone's flowerless field.

Don't you want company? (forget that, I know I'm approaching your poem - which I like very much - at the wrong level...)

I might need one. Glad to know that!

Here two meanings are approached simultaneously with so few words. I'd rather be a big frog in a small pond than a little one in a big pond (so much better said with the flower) And the idea of independence not being cared for but showing one's beauty for what it is as a wildflower and not only this but the only flower the big frog. The one to give beauty where there is none. A most lovely thought expressed in a minimum of words and beautiful metaphor a definite Fave
