The Island

mtrotter1

Let's throw diamonds on the dead

So they can shine one last time

For parting is such sweet damage

And all is forgiven nevermore

What can we reach at this time

When the rain has fallen

And the sunbeams begin to fade?

Nevermore did I see this coming

The rain upon the fall

And my heart begins to race

Higher and higher,

Behold the house upon the hill

Overlooking the island...

For the island is cruel with a broken heart

And he deems a man of rage,

What feelings do you have for me, cruel man?

For this island is wicked

Yet the dead have spoken!

And there are diamonds that are bigger than me

On this island,

For what is an island without rage?

I hold my heart in a star

For it holds so much passion

And rage...

How can I love another ever again?

How can I love you?

So much has been spoken upon the dead

Even my life's beam!

Does it shine like the parting star?

For the parting star is so deeply felt

Within this heart,

And for what reason do I see a boat

Sailing by?

For this island is cruel...for this island is human

Behold the sky in its finest hour

When peace dwells upon a cave

And diamonds rest upon the dead

And they shine even brighter,

I can only hope that one day

The stars will shine for me

The way that diamonds shine

Upon the dead.

And this island is cruel

With no intention,

How beautiful is the sea?

I see a rose floating on air

Yet your secret is safe with me

On this very island

And parting doesn't have to be so painful

For it can be smooth

Like the daring butterfly,

For on this island

I love you, forevermore

There are no promises upon the shore.
