MOOT

Ezekiel Olayemi

While you laid down your necks,With swords to cut through the moment's thrill.

Your steadfast course, a beacon bright,

Left pain incomprehensible, a sacrifice in sight.

Hearts drew near, vowing to celebrate,
Tack! Tack! The ship altered course,
Your noble path, now hijacked by buccaneers,
Leaving dreams adrift, lost in remorse.

Your journey, once a shining stream,
Now a liminal passage, shrouded in gloom.
Hearts despair, lost in unfolding night,
A darkness that consumes, without a light.
