NinjaGirl

take me back to

a time where the name

didn't mean much more

than playing with friends

being silly with siblings

take me back to

before it all got messy

when life was fun

and it was all a game

take me back to

when I didn't have to be a ninja

Good use of “ninja” in this poem. For me, perhaps I am off, my interpretation is this…longing for innocence, for when days were simple, innocent, happy and fun, where one was not suppressed to living in the shadows (like a ninja) where one is not noticed…or in the case of a ninja…may seek to remain unnoticed, since ninjas, as assassins, were very secretive and unseen on purpose, due to shame, guilt, lack of self-esteem or any other host of reasons. Not sure if I am hitting the mark, but that is what I got out of it reading your wonderful poem! Regardless of my interpretation, great job!!! 🖤❤️🖤🙏
