Sober, and you

wvlf

With you by my side
I buried myself
I inhaled the soil slowly and allowed the burn to carry me away
Into the next chapter, and into the next hour
Where i could feel nothing for once

With you by my side
We laid down and died
We let the night rampage our bodies and lull us to sleep as the sun kissed the morning
I bid you goodnight
And promised you love

The day you left my side
I met mourning anew
I cried for myself and took the first breath of sober air I'd known in a lifetime
And I kissed you into the ground
Neither choice nor will, and I miss you still

The "first breath of sober air" is a great line
