Waiting for snow

Maplespal

Waiting for snow

A single flake of snow passed by my eyes,

why alone with no others to comply.

Intriguing I watched it reach the ground,

despite its metaphorical weight, no sound.

Dissipated into a single lost drop,

melted on its landing spot.

A single flake of whitened snow,

waiting for the sky to start its show,

turn the view from clear to white,

turn the view into a snowing sight.

Cool the land with each melted drop,

with each snowflake until the snow stops.

A single flake passed by my eyes,

a coming show from the sky,

an autumn day mildly cold,

waiting for the clouds to unfold,

release their frozen drops,

until the ground they pile atop,

is cold enough to keep their form,

by snow from this coming storm.

Waiting for the coming squall,

a single flake I watched it fall,

it turned itself into a single drop,

on the ground it came to a stop.

Became the first flake to arrive,

each flake leaves the cloud alive,

screams and yells as it flies,

hitting the ground is when it dies.

A single flake had entered my view,

dissipated into a drop so true.

Waiting on this autumn night,

waiting for a snow filled sight.

I loved the personification of the snowflake and the metaphor of people being alone as well. Death upon impact most interesting. A beautiful poem

Tomorrow I will put up "a drop waiting" which will explain the flake and its life a little bit more. Your comment forced my brain to explain with a poem.
