Now that I am old

juliette72

 Now that I am old

I no longer wish

To solve the world’s problems

Let someone else worry

I want to gaze at the stars late at night

Watch the sun rise early in the morning

Grow flowers in my garden

Dance alone in my living room

And not care if anyone sees me

I no longer wish

To please anyone but myself

Instead, I will eat chocolate in bed

Watch movies in the dark

Wear red shoes and a green polka dot dress

Read the end of the story before the beginning

I will be the self I dreamed of being

When I was young and new to life

I will make the rules and not follow them

This is my world

I create it every day as I wish it to be

'Liberation' - a term used frequently way back when, as I remember. Only now....

Enjoyed your post more than ....

      Take care.
