The choice

Timothy Hilary Musa

Where have we gone wrong?

Who have we offended?

We never imagined,

We never saw this before

Yet, we accepted it

The birth of the pull is biting

It's teeth are a hurting comfort

And it's fangs chooses no flesh

Yet, our very eyes are witnesses

Who is to blame?

When tomorrow's bread is served

in today's plate

The pregnancy of yesterday is emptied

And the child stares all in the face

I am not seeing this alone

I am not speaking like a mad man

My neighbor sings in same solo

Living religion, parties, and earthnicity

Eaglets are seriously sweating as the

day and night travels away

The North, West, South and East

feels the crown's language

I see a new dawn, dawning a new

A dawning where the Eagle's piller

is awoken

Climing down on looters known for looting

Standing tall amidst injustice

and corruption

Freeing the grips of religion, parties, and earthnicity

There springs a new Naira speaking

in one voice.
