There, right there, don’t you see it

Just like a star or something bright

And moving too, as if approaching

It’s getting larger, second by second

Perhaps a meteor or alien spaceship

Or maybe some sort of messenger

With warm tidings or fateful warning

Holding all our futures in its hands

It must be close now, almost here

I can even see a glittering gold now

As if a gift, or valuable cannonball

It’s enormous, like a brilliant sunset

Dominating all of the evening skies

I’m sure it must impact very soon

I’ll close my eyes and …
