Continual Agony

Kerry

Enough is too far

I’m fed up, annoyed.

A glutton for punishment

Toxic dependence aside.

Nauseous, in pain

Religious it seems

Can break my heart over

With a click and a screen.

Lies upon lies

What truths will come clean

A photo, an action

Why is he so mean?

Infinite times

In my head I have shouted

Leave, get away

Be free, departed.

A sick twisted thrall

Holds me close, pulls me near

The darkness, the torment

To fight, to come clear.

Exhausted, alone

Gathering scraps of my soul

Welding, mending

A bright, lighter woman my goal.

Sick to the stomach

I gradually breathe

Let’s better my world

Stand up, head high, leave.
