Read this Poem and Keep it

Kevin Hulme

Read this Poem and keep it, and with your Heart confide,

Or place amongst your wandering thoughts

Where wasted Dreams reside.

Keep within a locket, to wear and think of me,

Or safe inside all Billet-Doux

For we could never be.

Read this Poem and keep it, to read in years ahead,

Within all lines a hopeless Love,

But still by absence fed.

Read this Poem and keep it, by Ribbons you’d often wear,

Through years my Love endures,

This truth by God I swear.

Basically a Love Affair that wasn’t to be.
