Yevheniia

Jeffery Lee Palmer

Love seems so trivial
but it transcends any distance
loneliness is a pit we fall in
when it feels helpless
we look up from the abyss
and find our godsend
if you give me your hand
I swear I'll never fall again

Take one step towards me
I'll hold you and whisper
my love for you till you fall asleep
your kiss fills my veins
fueling every heartbeat
every beat pounds for you
for you, for only you

When the darkest days fill my life
I look to the stars that fill my sky
the most brilliant alignment
is the Yevheniia constellation
I don't know how I survived
all this time without her in my life
one promise sealed with a kiss
and I swear I'll never be alone again

Take one step towards me
I'll hold you and whisper
my love for you till you fall asleep
your kiss fills my veins
fueling every heartbeat
every beat pounds for you
for you for only you

Listening to your breathing
as you lay next to me
interlocking fingers
as you slowly fall asleep
I whisper to myself and say
oh god don't let this be a dream
not even heaven can be this serene
My heart belongs to you eternally
