Peace in Tenderness…

G.Cabús

Peace is found in the whisper,

in the quiet, sincere moment,

when one looks at oneself without judgment,

like a faithful friend.

It is in that tender reflection

where the soul is discovered,

embracing its imperfections,

wrapping itself in a hug of being.

With the sweetness it deserves,

old wounds are seen,

and instead of hiding them,

a corner of peace is offered.

Thus, self-forgiveness is born,

not as forgetting, but as an act of love,

like a soft awakening

that says: “You are enough, just as you are.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem reflects a deep and beautiful lesson about self-compassion and inner peace. It speaks of how, by looking at oneself without judgment, with tenderness and acceptance, one can find true peace. This poem will be an affirmation that peace does not come from perfection or hiding imperfections, but from embracing them and treating oneself with the same kindness one would offer to a loved one. The poem conveys the idea that only when we stop being so hard on ourselves and accept our scars and mistakes, can we find a profound and lasting peace. In the act of accepting our humanity, imperfect and beautiful, we discover that we are enough just as we are.
