you squeeze through the cave
so many have died this way
gotten suffocated or stuck upside down
you're all alone exploring this hole
with passages that lead to nowhere
it gets really tight and claustrophobic
what treasures are you seeking?
there is not much down here
the rock covered everything for a reason
why do you want the truth?
will you still want it when it's ugly?
but you dive deeper
that headlamp you wear
I don't think it will save you
from the darkness I've been hiding.

- Comment from author about the poem: I often wonder a few things: when they search deep in me/trying to find the truth/will they really want it? and: if I am ever loved/will my partner be traumatized/by my own trauma/or perhaps angry/I don't think its easy to be loved/when your cave is so hard to navigate.

I know the fear and it is real. With that said, if your partner loves you for who you are, they will dive to the depths of hell for you...your "cave" won't scare them away. That's not to say it won't scare them, but true love does not flee when the going gets tough...rather, it grows stronger. Thank you so much for sharing this. True vulnerability at its best and that always makes for a beautiful poem Well done! 🌹👏🖤❤️🖤
Thank you for your time! One day I may find such a love haha!
