time for lots of shopping for your christmas spree
looking for the bargains what ever there may be
toys for all the children every girl and boy
for there christmas morn to fill the hearts with joy
buy some decorations and a christmas tree
baubles and the bangles to add some christmas glee
dont forget the lights to give a christmas show
a fairy on the top to give your heart a glow
time for celebration for the whole of all mankind
to let the world unite put troubles far behind
time for peace on earth the way that it should be
for each and everyone every you and me

Christmas is such an exciting time for children, not so much for grown ups. You reminded me here Jim of all the things that I loved best at Christmas as a child. Your second stanza is my favourite. A lovely image laden poem. Hope you are having a good day.
