Thanks for your respect
It was nice to see the remembering faces,
the family history with military traces.
The respectful silences given their moments,
every location with religious components.
Reminding all the respecters of a fact,
the words on this day used to distract.
Make death into somber and routine,
war, few of these people have seen.
It was nice to have stood with you in the rain,
reviewing the history that gives so many pain.
Watch each wreath be placed on their assigned dot,
remembering the dead with you at that spot.
Stand for those moments in silences lap,
acknowledge it’s open, wars tap.
Understand as we stood by each other's side,
both civilian and military each second died.
This world we stop to remember the dead,
on November 11 lots of humans bled.
Some survived the deadly attack,
the lost lives never to come back.
As you stood by a member's side,
did you think about where the missing hide?
Are they classified as being a part of the dead,
or are they not missing because nothings been said?
There was one thing left at the end of the day,
something I heard nobody whisper or say.
That day we stood and respected the past,
no questions on how long humanity will last.
Each year we will gather for a moment’s thought,
telling the dead they will not be forgot.
Put current events off to distractions side,
to remember everyone that died.
It hides
Sitting looking out at the view in front of me,
wondering if I should stand and have a closer see.
Allow the angle to assist my locked stare,
it is different than sitting in this chair.
Right now, I just understand its side,
from this angle the rest of it does hide.
Standing will reveal its hidden top,
from sitting to standing, I want to swap.
This view interests my thoughts mind.
Is this something I was meant to find?
Is this something that I might need?
The questions this view to me feeds.
Sitting looking through a stare,
at this thing in front to be aware.
Hidden that view I’m intrigued to see,
wheelchair bound; it hides from me.
