A Time to Give and a Time to Take

Matthew R. Callies

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.
But He is no longer the One with the say.
When man invented the shove; he became a giver;
A man who gives tree life, or one who delivers.
When the axe was invented, he became a thief;
Taking a tree’s life and every last leaf.
A man who owns land shouldn’t say he can’t
Use the divine powers of creating and destroying plants.
