Peace

Spencer Wilhelm

O the life of humility

The freedom of obedience

The joy within sorrow

The love within pain

I praise you

Without you

Nothing remains

The dead murky river of sin

Coursing swiftly and sharply

Jaggedly gnashing this frame

Repeatedly into the stone

The gentle hand, firm and steady

Gripping hard, yanked me out

All I had to say was sorry

And vomit the filth from inside my mouth

The less I am, the more you are

So take my life to yours

Within your wounds hide me please

Thank you Lord, I am not
