Ramblings

Kerry

Unraveling threads to sojourn

Endlessly to-ing and fro-ing

I wait, quiet like calm

Invaded by a wondering.

Pivotal merry go round

Damaged, forlorn

Movement ups to the down

In this, the eye of my life’s storm.

Paths familial, routes pass by

Follow a dream or bow down, abide

Always questioning right from wrong

To whom is given priority: my son?

Independant darling of my soul

Places to be, places to go.

Mama’s wings were torn, tethered to vagrant rules

Courage meets clarity - my time is due.

Circling back round to uneven ground

Find solace, creation me of mine.

Edinburgh’s enveloping arms

Enough! Hands turn back the vagaries of time.

Sprung to a watchful waiting pose

Decided, unhinged, knows where to go

A leap of faith - for once - in me

Trusting her, gardien of my destiny.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Am currently in Phuket wondering which path to take when I come back to Europe - set up a new business and leave my comfort zone & live in a new place and build a new social network or go back to Edinburgh after a 20 year journey away. Comfort of my family but I’d mostly be following them round

Decisions are difficult to make particularly at times of crisis or following a crisis. I can hear the vacillation in this poem. It seems full of insecurities. All of this is well communicated.
