Restless Slumber

mtrotter1

There is this idea

That I might be troublesome

The cages just don't follow!

And I remember your face

Tearing up in the night,

For tears just aren't enough anymore

And jewels shine like everlasting memories

Behold the madness that shames

For softly I roll my eyes

To your touch

And sleep is a man who never weeps

Unless he is caught...

And it is no shock to me

That you never sleep

My hand is holding your hand

And my heart is resting upon doubts,

Doubts I can't explain...

And truthfully, the love we have lost

Is the love we will never find again

For I find myself intolerable of you

Translating my thoughts in pain

Oh restless slumber, fill my eyes!

Fill my eyes the way you fill a sandcastle,

For a sandcastle is still;

Lead me to an ocean of roses

In your sphere,

Oh how amazing it is

To be alive

Oh restless slumber, I shall dive!
