Would for a peculiar single lone day,
As if by chance all time confused,
You looked at me in a Loving way,
Now such Laws of Fate removed.
For no intruder had claimed that Cherished Hand,
And joined their Heart with yours,
To myself alone all life was planned,
And all that Love procures.
For to myself those eyes gave way,
Unto myself those smiles,
My Souls desires would be at play,
By all that Love provides.
And in the Hours that lie ahead,
My devotion clearly true,
All bridled Love My Heart has bred,
Will serve that term for you.
If Only; If Only for a single lone day,
When the Stars were favoured well,
I’d pray the Gods prolong my stay-
And there forever dwell.
