Mae's House

mtrotter1

I remember her picture on the wall

I remember everything about her

Heaven never ceases to amaze me

As the clouds begin to disappear

And the sun begins to shine

How come nobody told me she died?

That old house stands alone

Between two other houses

May that old spirit rest

And may she rest with it

And I will always remember

The dry grass and the dying tree

That died with her.
